July 24th, 2008 — Dayton, OH

Peroia Chiefs vs. Dayton Dragons

A HUGE BRAWL broke out in the bottom of the 1st inning of this game between the two teams.

Peoria Chiefs pitcher Julio Castillo took the ultimate cheap shot as he crow-hopped a baseball into the direction of the Dayton Dragons dugout. The ball then skimmed off the dragons dugout and drilled a fan in the middle of the forehead! The Fan was taken away in a stretcher to the hospital. This pitcher then was arrested for assault by the Dayton Police.

15 Players were ejected
02 Head Coaches were ejected
—-
17 total people were ejected, but were then UN-ejected because they did not have enough position players to continue to play the game!

Dragons then won the game 6-5 after a 1 hour and 9 minute delay!

NCAA College Football Notre Dame Fighting Irish Report

Notre Dame hopes to turn around a 3-9 season from a year ago

Hello College Football fans this is Dana Ward with Gamblers Televisions college football report.

The 2007 college football season was a forgettable one for head coach Charlie Weis and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Notre Dame ranked 117th out of 119 Division 1 college football teams in total points averaging a mere 16.4 points per game. The offensive line was very poor in pass protection and in the run game last season. The O line was last from college football giving up 58 sacks and their run game ranked 115th in the nation averaging only 75 yards per game. Sophomore quarterback Jimmy Clausen returns under center for the Irish and will not have to compete for a starters role like last season. Clausen was not impressive in his spring game going a mere 10 of 27 through the air and he threw a pick 6 deep in his own end zone. Head coach Charlie Weis will not call plays this season for the Fighting Irish as Notre Dame’s top man has made a commitment to spread his time to all areas of his team. Weis was criticized for focusing too much on his quarterback and play calling and losing sight on all other areas of his football team. Several Irish linemen reported to spring practice with more bulk. The team is hoping with added strength and size the offensive line would make a major improvement this season. Notre Dame has always had good line push and it’s an area that experts believe can be fixed if the coaching staff manages the weight room effectively. Four starters return from last year’s offensive line and it may help form a better chemistry for this much-maligned unit. Sophomore running back Robert Hughes provides an upside for the program after rushing for 246 yards in the final two games of the season. Notre Dame has a great recruiting class coming into South Bend and if the line can block for Clausen the program can turn around in 2008. Notre Dame opens the season Saturday September 6th hosting San Diego St.

Oddsmakers have posted Notre Dame as a 65-1 longshot to win the BCS National Championship Game.

KO At “The Joe”

Author: admin

Attached is a time-lapse video of the setup/ breakdown from this Saturday’s KO at “The Joe” Boxing event at the stadium. We purchased 1,000 feet of EventDeck flooring to protect the infield from the 12 VIP dinner tables. 550 chairs were set up on the warning track for Ringside seats. We turned each dugout into concession stands so the people waiting in line for food wouldn’t obstruct anyone’s view of the fight; and that’s actually the headline in this recap from the Albany Times Union:

http://timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=604130&category=SPORTS&BCCode=HOME&newsdate=7/8/2007

Set-up took about 3 hours for the ring, and an additional 4 hours for flooring, tables, chairs and dugout concessions with a crew of 10. Breakdown and cleanup was only 45 minutes. It was a fun night.
