Shawn Tompkins, head striking coach at Xtreme Couture Las Vegas and owner of Team Tompkins Muay Thai and Submission in London, Ontario, caught up with MMATraining.com during a recent tour of his gym.

Shawn discusses the training routine of Mark Hominick prior to his fight at Affliction: Banned, along with his recent signing with a Las Vegas kickboxing promotion where he is looking to fight Ken Shamrock in the coming future.

Shawn has taught such notable fighters as Sam Stout, Chris Horodecki, and Mark Hominick. He has also fought himself in UCC; a Canadian MMA organization now known as TKO Major League MMA. He owns a professional record of 0-4. He officially took the reins from Bas Rutten as the Los Angeles Anacondas head coach on March 17, 2007, just before their matchup against the San Jose Razorclaws.

    Of course hes going …
Of course hes going to beat Shamrock in a striking fight. Take away Kens ground game and he has nothing. That would be like having Shawn fight Ken in ADCC
